#PAADay 12th October 2016 to 2023
International Parental Alienation Awareness Day coincides with our Anzac Day on 25 April in Australia and New Zealand. It would be disrespectful to our Anzacs to promote awareness on this day or the following day with the media coverage from Anzac Day.
On 17 August 2016, the founder, Amanda Sillars, decided we needed to have our official day here in Australia and New Zealand, so she created a poll within the EMMM support group to get their views on whether we should establish our awareness day on the 12 October during Mental Health Week. 99% of the members supported this decision, so we decided to create our official Parental Alienation Awareness Day #PAADay.
We launched our first #PAADay on 12 October 2016.

Parental Alienating Behaviours
are Child Abuse & Family Violence.
This serious form of abuse and family violence can no longer be ignored. Parental alienating behaviours must be acknowledged in Australia as it is in other parts of the world. We need legislation that not only acknowledges its existence but firmly and clearly legislates against it.
