International Parental Alienation Awareness Day is 25 April which coincides with our Anzac Day on the 25th of April here in Australia and in New Zealand. It would be disrespectful to our Anzac's to promote awareness on this day or the following day with the media coverage from Anzac Day.
On the 17th of August 2016, the founder Amanda Sillars decided we need to have our own official day here in Australia and New Zealand so she created a poll within the EMMM support group to get their views on whether we should create our own awareness day on the 12th October during Mental Health Week. 99% of the members were in support of this decision so we then decided to create our official Parental Alienation Awareness Day #PAADay.
We launched our first #PAADay on the 12th of October 2016.
